Maybe its just Pharell’s production, but I’m feeling “Therapy” by Mims.  Way different than “this is why I’m hot”.  Take a listen, chorus is fire.  I think I can hear some conscious rapping in there, I’m not sure…you decide.

Lupe Fiasco coming with some more tracks.  This one is dubbed “I know Why” -Featuring his sidekick GemStones who dropped a decent mixtape a while back.  Lupe is honestly one of my favorite rappers out now, and its good to see new stuff being put out regularly.

Honestly when I hear tracks by athletes, I shy away, for obvious reasons. Who can forget Kobe, Shaq, and of course Ron. But when Chicago Bears receiver Brandon Lloyd gets on the mic, it’s a different experience. He has flow, talks about his life, and that combined makes a decent track. All Mine is a smooth track, thats incredibly likable. Bobby Valentino’s voice goes perfectly on the track, and I can only image after Brandon’s playing career is over, he turns to the music industry.

ps. He goes by B. Lloyd

Protest Concert at Democratic National Convention by DLOOS

On August 27th (Wednesday) a protest concert was staged outside the D.N.C. in support of Iraq Veterans Against the War. It started as a 2-mile march across Denver to the Pepsi Center. A mass of what was said to be between 4,500 to 6,000 people gathered outside the Pepsi Center, and refused to stand in what was designated as the protest zone, dubbed the Freedom Cage. Most of the protesters just relaxed, smoking weed and playing dice. Performers included Flobots, The Coup and Rage Against the Machine, who for the first time in their career, played a show which didn’t involve the audience going into a violent frenzy. Among the highlights of the day were RATM breaking into their MC5 cover “Kick Out the Jams” with assistance from MC5 guitarist himself, Wayne Kramer, dressed in all white with an American Flag painted guitar.
